My covenant of prosperity
Deuteronomy 8:18
Anchor Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:18
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” — Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)
Introduction
Welcome to the glorious month of June, our prophetic month of “MY COVENANT OF PROSPERITY.”
Prosperity is one of the most misunderstood subjects in the body of Christ. Many people see prosperity as merely having money, possessions or material abundance. However, biblical prosperity is far deeper than material wealth — it is the covenant blessing of God that empowers a believer to flourish spiritually, mentally, physically, financially and purposefully.
Our anchor scripture in Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us of a powerful truth: God is the source of prosperity. The Bible says it is He who gives power to get wealth. This means prosperity is not simply a result of human intelligence, connections, qualifications or hard work alone; prosperity is tied to a covenant relationship with God.
This month, God is reminding us that prosperity is not accidental — it is covenantal.
What Is a Covenant of Prosperity?
A covenant is a divine agreement backed by God’s integrity and faithfulness. When God enters into covenant with a man, He commits Himself to fulfilling His promises as long as the covenant principles are observed.
The covenant of prosperity is God’s divine commitment to bless His children, empower them for increase and make them fruitful so they can fulfill destiny and become blessings to others.
God never intended His children to live under constant lack, fear and frustration. His desire is for His people to prosper and walk in abundance.
The Bible says:
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” — 3 John 1:2
Notice that God’s prosperity is balanced. It includes:
- Spiritual prosperity
- Financial prosperity
- Mental prosperity
- Health and wellness
- Fruitfulness in purpose and destiny
Hidden Truths About Covenant Prosperity
1. Prosperity Begins With God
No one can genuinely prosper outside divine help. Human effort has limits, but when God empowers a person, impossible doors begin to open.
Many struggle because they depend solely on their own strength, wisdom and connections. But true covenant prosperity starts when a person acknowledges God as the source.
Prosperity is not “self-made”; it is God-enabled.
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it…” — Psalm 127:1
This month, make God your source, not merely your option.
2. Prosperity Is Connected To Obedience
The covenant works through obedience.
God’s promises are powerful, but obedience activates them. When Abraham obeyed God, blessings followed him.
“And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” — Genesis 22:18
Disobedience delays destiny, but obedience unlocks supernatural increase.
Ask yourself:
- Am I obeying God’s instructions?
- Am I faithful in service?
- Am I walking according to His Word?
3. Prosperity Requires Diligence
Faith is powerful, but faith without action produces frustration.
God blesses the work of your hands. There must be something in your hands for God to bless.
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings…” — Proverbs 22:29
Lazy expectations cannot produce prosperous manifestations.
This month:
- Improve your skills
- Be diligent in business
- Pursue excellence
- Stay committed to your assignment
4. Prosperity Flows Through Giving
One mystery of kingdom prosperity is generosity.
The world says, “Keep to have more,” but the Kingdom says, “Give and it shall be given unto you.”
A closed hand cannot receive fresh blessings.
“Give, and it shall be given unto you…” — Luke 6:38
When you become a blessing, God multiplies blessings around you.
5. Prosperity Has a Kingdom Purpose
God does not prosper us merely for luxury — He prospers us for impact.
The blessing of God enables us to:
- Support Kingdom advancement
- Bless families and communities
- Help the needy
- Fund kingdom projects
- Become solutions to problems
You are blessed to become a blessing.
