healed by his stripes

Isaiah 53:5

Introduction

The month of April often aligns with the season of remembrance of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the center of that sacrifice is not just salvation from sin, but also divine healing. Many believers embrace forgiveness but struggle to walk in the reality of healing that Christ already paid for.

The Scripture declares in Isaiah 53:5 (KJV):
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

This is not a future promise—it is a finished work. Healing is part of the covenant we have in Christ. The stripes of Jesus were not symbolic; they were physical, brutal, and purposeful—to secure your total healing: spirit, soul, and body.

1. Healing Is a Finished Work

Scripture: Isaiah 53:5, John 19:30

When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant that everything required for your redemption—including healing—was completed.

Healing is not something you beg for; it is something you receive by faith. The price has already been paid through His suffering.

Before the cross, people sought healing. After the cross, we enforce what has already been accomplished.

Prayer Points:

  • Father, help me to walk in the revelation of the finished work of Christ.
  • I receive my healing fully—nothing missing, nothing broken in Jesus’ name.

2. The Stripes of Jesus Paid for Total Healing

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:24

“…by whose stripes ye were healed.”

The stripes Jesus received were severe beatings that tore His flesh. Every stripe carried your sickness, pain, and affliction.

Healing is three-dimensional:

  • Spiritual healing (salvation)
  • Emotional healing (peace of mind)
  • Physical healing (health in the body)

Illustration:
Just as sin entered through one man, healing and restoration came through Christ.

Prayer Points:

  • Lord, let every area of my life experience your healing power.
  • I reject every form of sickness in my body in Jesus’ name.

3. Faith Is the Channel for Receiving Healing

Scripture: Mark 5:34

“Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole…”

Healing flows where faith is present. The woman with the issue of blood activated her healing by believing and acting.

Key Truth:
God’s power is available, but faith is what connects you to it.

Illustration:
Many touched Jesus, but only one was made whole—because she touched Him with faith.

Prayer Points:

  • Lord, increase my faith to receive my healing.
  • I connect to divine healing by faith today.

4. Healing Is Your Covenant Right

Scripture: Exodus 15:26

“…I am the Lord that healeth thee.”

God revealed Himself as Jehovah Rapha—your healer. Healing is not a privilege for a few; it is the covenant right of every believer.

Illustration:
A child does not beg for what belongs to him in the father’s house. Healing belongs to you.

Prayer Points:

  • Father, I stand on Your Word and claim my healing.
  • I declare that sickness has no legal ground in my life.

5. The Word of God Carries Healing Power

Scripture: Proverbs 4:20–22

“…for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

God’s Word is medicine. Consistent exposure to the Word produces healing in your body.

Illustration:
Just like medicine must be taken regularly, the Word must be meditated on continually.

Prayer Points:

  • Lord, let Your Word bring healing to my body.
  • I receive divine health through Your Word daily.

6. Jesus Still Heals Today

Scripture: Hebrews 13:8

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

What Jesus did in the Bible, He is still doing today. Healing did not expire—it is still available.

Illustration:
Blind eyes were opened, the lame walked, and the dead were raised—He is still the same God.

Prayer Points:

  • Lord, manifest Your healing power in my life today.
  • I believe in Your unchanging power to heal.

7. You Must Reject Sickness and Stand in Authority

Scripture: Luke 10:19

God has given you authority over sickness and disease. You are not helpless—you are empowered.

Illustration:
Sickness is an intruder; you must refuse to accommodate it.

Prayer Points:

  • I take authority over every sickness in my body in Jesus’ name.
  • Every affliction is uprooted now!

Conclusion

The stripes of Jesus were not in vain. They secured your healing permanently. You are not trying to be healed—you are already healed, and you are enforcing that reality by faith.

Walk in this consciousness:
You are redeemed, restored, and healed.

Let this month be a season where testimonies of divine healing overflow in your life and in the church.
